Join me and Rosy Sunday to welcome our new German Restaurant Owners:   Rainer and Ulrike Doehler, as well as their general manager Iris.

The Grand Opening Celebration is a Special Event, that serves FREE samples of a small selection of what BAVARIAN CASTLE has to offer.

Guests will be treated to samples of Schnitzel with Peppersauce (Paprikasosse). In addition you can taste samples of Meatballs (Frikadellen), Currywurst with homemade Currysauce, Ulrike´s Sauerkraut, Rainer’s Potato Salad (Kartoffelsalat) from a 100-year old family recipe. Small Partybuns from the German Bread Bakery und French Fries will round up the food selection. Soft drinks are Free. (as long as supplies last)

Don not expect a full dinner here that Sunday. It is a celebration with free samples. The only food items that can be purchased on Sunday, are The Bavarian Castle Bratwurst with a bun or French Fries, at a special event price of $3.50 

There are several German Beers on Sale that night. Warsteiner Pilsner, Paulaner Salvator, Paulaner Thomas Brau, Paulaner Hefeweizen, Paulaner alkoholfrei, all for a Grand Opening price of $3.50. A half-liter König Ludwig Weissbier is on sale at $4,50 Grand Opening price.

There will also be wine opportunities: Canyon Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Canyon Road Chardonnay 2013, Canyon Road Moscato 2013, Canyon Road Pinot Grigio2012, $5/glass.

The German wine selection features Starling Castle Riesling 2012, Schmitt und Söhne Piesporter Michelsberg Spätlese 2011 at $7.50/glass.

After the celebration, Monday is closed (Ruhetag).

Regular restaurant operations start Tuesday, June 24, at 11:00 a.m.

Antonia aus Tirol, had her breakthrough 1999 together with “DJ OETZI” and their Number-One-Hit “Anton aus Tirol”. She continued her solo career as “Antonia feat. Deborah Sasson’s “The Concert”, featuring Peter Moss, acoustic guitar, Iwan Urwalow, piano and Ashraf Kateb, violin. The Premiere of Deborah’s new show.

Deborah studied at the Oberlin-Conservatory in New York and graduated with a “Master in Music” degree. Her first professional engagement was at the Metropolitan Opera New York, followed by her Broadway debut in Show Boat, from which she was cast by Leonard Bernstein in 1982 for the role of Maria, at West Side Story in Hamburg, Germany.

Deborah’s repertoire covers Classic to Pop, and she is best known for her performance as Christine at “Phantom der Oper” and the duet with former husband Peter Hofmann in „Scarborough Fair“, which went triple platinum. She also recorded Mahler’s 8^th. symphony with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and developed a Pop-Music concept in 1988 with producers Achim Voelker and Horst Vay.

Deborah has released various Pop albums since and performed worldwide at operas in San Francisco, Venice, Rio de Janeiro, London, Vienna, Berlin and Paris.  Her new album “Deborah Sasson” was released in 2014.

She has played as a soloist in the most important cultural centers of Europe, in­cluding Vienna’s Musikverein, Berlin’s Philharmonie and the Konzerthaus, the Herkulessaal and the Gasteig in Munich, the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Liederhalle Stuttgart, the Meister­singerhalle Nürnberg, the Bonner Beethovenhalle, St. John’s Smith Square in London, the Auditorium in Milan, in Rome, Amsterdam, Luxemburg, Brussels, Thessaloniki, Sofia, Kiev, and St. Petersburg, to name only a few.

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach was a German Classical period musician and composer, the fifth child and second (surviving) son of Johann Sebastian Bach and Maria Barbara Bach. He was an influential composer working at a time of transition between his father's baroque style and the classical and romantic styles that followed it. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart said of him, "He is the father, we are the children." The best part of Joseph Haydn's training was derived from a study of his work. Ludwig van Beethoven expressed for his genius the most cordial admiration and regard.
